Travellers' diarrhoea

Traveler’s diarrhoea is an infection of the stomach and intestine that causes loose, watery stools in those travelling. It is the most common illness that occurs to travellers worldwide, although it predominantly happens in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Mexico, and Central and South America. Essentially, TD is caused by ingested contaminated water or food containing bacteria, viruses, or parasites. Poor sanitation, lack of refrigeration, unsafe water, and poor food handling practices are among the risk factors for acquiring the disease.

The symptoms Traveler's diarrhoea of include:

Stools that are unformed, Abdominal cramps, Nausea, Fever, Headache, Bloating, and
Bloody diarrhoea.

TD usually occurs within 10 days of travel, and the symptoms usually last 3 to 5 days. In healthy adults, TD is rarely serious or life-threatening, but it can be very unpleasant and dehydrating.
