Jet Lag
Jet lag is something that occurs to the majority of us, a temporarily sleep-related problem
caused by travelling in the country of a different time zone. Jet lag is an issue for all people
crossing more than three time zones. Due to jet lag, many psychological and physiological
effects can appear, including:
Sleep issues: either not being able to fall asleep at night, waking up too early, or having
nonrestorative sleep
Daytime fatigue: difficulty in staying awake, tiredness, lack of energy
Other symptoms may include: dizziness, problems with concentration and memory,
indigestion, nausea, constipation, changes in appetite, mild anxiety.
In most cases, jet lag gets better after a few days with your body getting used to a new time
zone, but it takes a few weeks for some people.
Medication: Melatonin may be prescribed for some people not fully recovering from all the above symptoms. Please book your appointment to be seen by our healthcare professional for your right treatment option.
